Credo congratulates Michelle Samuels-Jones on her new role as Vice President for Student Success!

As VPSS, Michelle will provide direct oversight for Credo’s student success solutions, including product development, business planning, team management, and firm expertise on best and next-practice thinking around student learning and achievement.

Michelle joined Credo in 2014 and has been instrumental in the refining of the development and delivery of student success projects like Moving the Needle and the Student Success ACE. Credo Senior Vice President Joretta Nelson, Ph.D., is excited about Michelle’s new role, saying,

“Michelle has been an extraordinary asset to this division, and the team looks forward to continuing to serve together with Michelle in this new leadership capacity.”

Michelle has been working in higher education and student affairs since 1995. As the Vice President for Student Success, she leads Credo retention, campus life, and student engagement initiatives designed to help students thrive in and outside the classroom. Prior to joining Credo, she served as the Dean of the Spring Lake Campus at Fayetteville Technical Community College where she provided strategic direction for the academic, co-curricular, and facilities plan for the College’s branch campus. Michelle also worked as the Associate Provost for Student Affairs at the University of Maryland University College, serving as the Chief Student Affairs Officer for their campuses in the U.S., Asia, and Europe. Michelle also has held assistant and associate dean roles in student affairs at Lehigh University and the University of Virginia. She earned her B.A. and M.Ed. from the University of Virginia, and is currently ABD as a doctoral candidate at Northeastern University.

Michelle said about her new role,
