A seasoned senior executive, strategic thinker and entrepreneur, Ryan is the President and co-founder of Plasticity Boom, LLC. Plasticity Boom, LLC is a privately held innovation incubator focused on teaming up with organizations to design solutions that help people thrive. Plasticity Boom, LLC’s purpose is to bring design solutions to help equip people and organizations so they can excel in today’s ever-changing marketplace. Previously, Ryan provided leadership to areas of innovation, strategic expansion and non-residential global learning on the campus of Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) since 2007. As the Vice President for ONU Global, Ryan oversaw Olivet’s innovation division that specialized in creating new models that offered disruptive solutions to markets. During Ryan’s leadership tenure, the division worked on producing agility, creativity, and entrepreneurship in addressing the changing landscape in the industry. Ryan’s division produced over $250 million in total new revenue during his tenure. His innovation projects included leading Olivet through the transition of online education, forming creative unique corporate benefit partnerships, establishing corporate leadership development paths, ground-breaking modern marketing approaches, new internal technology automation system designs for efficiencies, and partnerships with over 200 organizations including deals Salesforce, the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears, and the Indianapolis Colts.
His focus in creating education at scale has received global accolades. The latest innovation was a top-three finalist for the Salesforce Dave Perry Excellence in Innovation Award in 2021. Ryan has been featured in publications, media outlets, conferences and podcasts discussing design solutions relative to market disruption. In 2009, his doctoral dissertation, The Impact of Geographic Expansion on Organizational Identity, was featured in London’s Journal of General Management. Using his knowledge from his prior professional work for Arthur Andersen, LLP and Deloitte & Touche, LLP, Ryan is an entrepreneurial and visionary leader who has led the innovations of new approaches that are changing industries. Ryan’s passion is to challenge established norms and find innovative strategic solutions that are both affordable, effective and are implemented.
Ryan and his wife Jennifer reside in Illinois and have three children, Jack, Kate and Quinn.
